Back in business.

After that little side quest where a god died. Its time to return to my real quest. The one where I have to prevent a new god being born. Or whatever the Instant's goal is.

I met back up with Kyra, which explains her lack of posting. Since she was only doing it to communicate with me. She's still as stubborn and hostile as ever. Talking about Kyra, why does she have to walk around half naked all the time. <.<
I know that its easier to cut herself and let out the birds/raptors that way but dammit its too distracting.

I wish I could give you guys an update on our progress but we have none. Ever since I got back we've been bombarded by proxies.
Where are they even getting all these proxies? And as much as I'd like to take credit for taking out hordes of proxies, I can't. Kyra is the one doing most of the killing around here now. And if its not her, its that banshee chick that shows up out of nowhere and attacks anyone that comes too close.
 I really should ask EAT some questions. If anyone knows why these proxies are so desperate to get me, its her. 


On another note, we need a plan. Its obvious we can't kill the Instant in any normal way. Last time we tried that Yaro got killed. So its time to do some research. <x3

The Rake

So the plan was to attack a colony of maenads and hope the Rake showed up. We drove there by bus and were split into teams. I was paired up with Kenny (the guy who writes that blog I linked to a few posts ago.) and another guy named Fang.

Shine had been singing annoying songs while we were on the bus. The whole damn time. -.-
Luckily only I had to suffer through them as she didn't sing them out loud. Its like having a song stuck in your head, but worse.

Anyway once we arrived I put on my gloves and loaded my gun. Kenny shuffled towards us. I suggested he get his weapon ready. He looked at his staff, I expected him to have something else for a weapon but I guess a Staff works well too.
I don't read his blog so shuddup.

I didn't say anything.

I wasn't talking to you Shine.

 Fang pointed out a grocery store where we might find some Maenads. They then barged in there and started attacking people. (And then proxiehunter said I have a death wish. <.< If I do then these guys probably have one too. Just saying.)
I ran inside after them and started shooting. The more chaos the higher our chances of Rakey showing up I figured.

Suddenly a woman jumped on me out of nowhere. She pinned me down on the ground and my gun flew out of my hands. I tried to kick her off of me but she was stronger. Right when she was about to try and bite my face off, Kenny hit her on the head with his staff and she collapsed.

Guess that staff was a better weapon than I thought. I should thank him for saving me there.
Anyway, I threw her off of me and rolled behind some cover. Because someone was shooting from somewhere, with my gun apparently.

Kenny said he was gonna help Fang, who was also being pinned down apparently. I agreed and said I'd go get my gun back, the fun way.
So I crouched and went to the other end of the aisle before sprinting out trying to get to the back of the store. A guy came up at me and I punched him in the face. Knocked him out instantly. (And that's why I love my gloves. ^^ )

I then crawled around and got behind the guy with my gun and attacked him. I quickly had him pinned down and started punching him till he passed out. Grabbed my gun again and reloaded it.
The fucker wasted most of my bullets.

But it sure was fun!

I then walked back to the entrance. Fang and Kenny soon followed. We figured that would have been good enough and went back to the others.





The others were waiting for us at the gas station. Now we just had to wait for the third group but not for long. The three of them came sprinting towards us, one of them shooting behind them.
Our plan obviously worked, the rake was right behind them.

Now I had seen pictures of this thing before but goddamn it was ugly. Like Gollum but far worse. It had beady red eyes and fangs and giant blade-like claws. And it was coming straight at us.
If it had been just me and my guns I would be FUBAR right now. Maybe even mistaken for ground beef.

It was then that the "Inspector" stepped forward. I had no idea what he was gonna do, I hadn't payed attention to anyone in our group really. So I was surprised when suddenly the Rake looked like it had forgotten what it was even doing. It just walked around in circles, as if it was confused for some reason. All the while the Inspector was just standing there in front of it.

Next part of the plan: "Have Fang (runner from the black dog, I assume.) think about his darkest secrets and hope the mutt shows up."
Not the best plan but it worked. Just on time too, the Rake seemed to be regaining its senses.

Suddenly this huge black canine leapt up at the Rake and pinned it down. All I could see was two blurs fighting. One black with yellow glowing eyes the other White-ish with red eyes. Blood and Fur all over the place. An Impressive sight really.



Not too long into the fight and suddenly this small robot-spider-face thing comes scurrying at the fighting Beasts and jumps in. Not really how I pictured the newborn to look like..
It had come to help apparently, only to have the Black dog grab it between its jaws and throw it away.
I laughed a bit. Seriously, it was funny.

The Black dog and the Rake just kept at it. Every injury they caused each other healed itself up again. But after a while it became Obvious that the Rake was healing and dealing damage faster. If this kept up it would win and then come after us.

It was then that the Newborn showed up again. It had changed, improved even. On its legs were now long metal claws and it also had steel fangs. I was partly impressed and partly worried at its learning capabilities. It will only become stronger if it keeps doing this, not a good thing. Not good at all..

It jumped on the Rake and slashed and bit at it. But the Rake was strong and was about to break free.
When suddenly a gunshot rang out. It hat hit the Rake and the monster collapsed. The other two Fears jumped on it and tore It apart in a matter of seconds.

We thought the Shot came from on of ours. But our sniper said it wasn't him. We looked around to see where the shot came from and then we saw him, the Archangel.
He stood on a rooftop nearby with a sniper rifle. He put away his gun and turned to us. Then he tipped his bowler hat and disappeared.


It took three other Fears but we did it, we killed the Rake. We killed a fucking Fear. So all you runners out there, there is hope. We can kill these bastards. We can win. We just need to band together and form a plan. It will take a long time, but we can do this. The Fears will fall.

Back in Belgium

Phew..
Finally a break.
Proxies, proxies everywhere.

I get back in Belgium and they just swarm all over me. Like they're paparazzi and I'm a Hollywood star, but with more violence.
For those that are wondering, my kill count is up to triple digits now.
(I lost count after 90 though.)

It really makes no sense. Why do they keep coming after me? Is it because I'm a resonator? According to others proxies they would have given up by now for any normal runner. So why so much effort to get me?
Are resonators really that useful to them? Or to their "master".

And if so..
Why exactly?

Crap, I was supposed to write about the Rake in this post but instead I made a rant.
Why do I always rant at the wrong times? Oh well I'll post this and start writing the Rake post as a separate one. Because Its gonna be a long one.
I'll post it in a bit.<x3

Report number six.

Alicia suggested a plan in the comments. So I followed her advice and tracked down an actual Nameless. The Instant apparently had been attacking Wanderers, not Nameless.
There is a difference apparently.

The one I found had just gotten out of prison. They couldn't keep him there. Even though they couldn't find out who he was. No record of his name, anywhere. Hence the title: Nameless.
Once I found him it was rather easy. I just waited until he as alone and went up to him.

Me: "Hello. Have you seen your daughter recently?"
Him: "Of course I have! I never let her out of my sight! At least not until those men locked me up! They didn't understand that she needs me! "
Me:".. Yes, I know. They don't understand. But I do understand and I want to help."
Him: "I don't need your help I just need to protect her!"
Me: "That's why I want to help you. I'll help you get back to her so you can protect her.""
Him: "Why? You want her for yourself don't you?!"
Me: "No I.."

Suddenly The birds tell me the Instant is close by and heading this way. And that Banshee girl is on his tail.

Me: "Look, There is someone after your little girl and he's getting closer. If you don't help me find him he'll use you to find her and hurt her."
Him:" Lies!"
Me: "He's getting closer please listen to me, your girl her life depends on it!"
Him:"I don't believe you!"
Me:" If you don't help me find her she'll die!!"
Him:"..."

Suddenly I see the Instant in the distance running towards us. The Nameless sees him too and starts running. I needed to act quickly, I couldn't let the Instant possess this guy. So I grabbed my knife and set free a flock of birds. They quickly surrounded the Nameless and picked him up. They lifted him into they sky. He struggled and screamed to get out of their grip but it didn't matter. You can't escape if the birds want you dead.

The Instant had caught up and shouted at the birds. They didn't listen, some of them flew above the Nameless in circles. They were so fast you could only see a black blur and bright static.
The Instant then turned to me and yelled, telling me to make them let him go. I ignored him and watched the lightning strike down completely obliterating the Nameless.
With no body left for the Instant to possess he turned his attention to me. He pulled out a gun and pointed it at me.

He seemed to have forgotten about the Banshee. Because he didn't see her coming until she jumped at him, screaming. I ran out of there before her screaming could damage my ears.

Last I saw was her pinning him down and screaming right into his face. He would have died from that if he was human. But the birds confirmed that he got back up half an hour after she left.

They also confirmed that she's after ME now. For god knows what reason. I need to go before she finds me here.

Report number five.

I have birds following both the Instant and the banshee girl. Just in case he was after her.
Turns out she's after him instead. He was attacking another Nameless and she suddenly screams and attacks him out of nowhere. I think those two birds I sent after them are deaf now.


So now I'm stalking both of them. While she stalks him and he stalks the Unnamed child. At least I think that's who he's after. Why does this seem familiar..
Maybe I should interrogate a Nameless myself. I doubt they'll tell me much though. But I need to find that little brat first. So I've gotta try.

Report number Four.

The Instant fucked up. The Girl he attacked wasn't a Nameless this time. She wasn't the Unnamed Child either. I don't know much about either of them but as far as I know neither of them shatter windows by screaming.

My ears are still ringing from that shit.
The girl was around my age with long greyish-cyan hair. Must be dyed or she's not human. Maybe a Banshee or something. If they even exist. The Instant ran from her when she screamed. I would have chased him but I was too busy laying on the ground and bleeding out of my ears.

I wonder what the fuck she was.

Serial killers are people too

Another small report.

Managed to scare the Instant away from a woman he was interrogating. Everyone runs when they see a Convocation flock coming at them. I managed to catch the woman and interrogate her myself. I asked her what he wanted. She didn't respond, she just looked at me.

I asked again, no response. I told her I was going to hurt her if she didn't start talking.
She just kept looking at me as if she didn't understand what was going on. "Do you speak Dutch?" I asked. Since I was talking to her in Dutch, maybe she was French or something.

She completely ignored my question and said. "Have you seen my little girl?"
I told her that I didn't and asked about the Instant again. This repeated a few times before I gave up and walked away.

I would have left her alone after that. But the crazy bitch decided attacking me was a good idea. She grabbed me and shouted. "Where is my daughter! Give me back my daughter!!" And then she tried to claw my eyes out.

So I stabbed her. Fucking bitch. If I wasn't a nest that would have fucking hurt. So no real progress here. I wonder what the Instant wanted with her.
